Jelena Prokopljević is architect and researcher in the field of socialist architecture and urbanism as part of the general history of contemporary architecture. Graduated from the University of Belgrade (1998). PhD at the Polytechnic University of Barcelona (2006). Co-author of the book “North Korea, the Concrete Utopia” (2012) and co-editor of the Dongwoo Yim’s “Unprecedented Pyongyang” (2017). She is part of board of experts of the European Prize for Public Space - CCCB and member of direction board of Arquin-FAD. Collaborator of URBS, Arquia, Korean Pavilion for Venice Biennale 2014 and co-curator of “Aftermath”- Catalan exhibition for the Venice Biennale 2016. She has published and lectured widely on socialist and North Korean architecture; currently teaches History and Theory of Architecture at the International University of Catalonia (ETSARQ-UIC) and Urban History at Barcelona Architecture Centre (BAC).
